Pigeon Racing Weather Centre
Wind, rain, temperature and visibility are part of race preparation rather than decoration.
Shared geographic forecast
Members racing in the same area see the same forecast. Another Federation can experience different conditions.
Forecasts can change
Future conditions are clearly forecasts and may develop as race day approaches. At liberation the race conditions are locked and become part of the official race history.
Compass wind
The Weather Centre shows N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W or NW. The simulation then compares that real wind direction with each loft route to calculate headwind, tailwind and crosswind effects.
Plan around uncertainty
A team selected early in the week may face different conditions by Saturday. That uncertainty is part of the management challenge.
